Did Ben Affleck Just Drop a Hint That He is Interested in Directing a Solo BATMAN Movie?

Ben Affleck has been known as an actor for a long time now. Recently, he has tested the waters of being a director with Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo. The latter really put Affleck's name on the map as a director since Argo was nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning three including Best Picture in 2012.

Now Affleck is Bruce Wayne / Batman in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and he told Entertainment Weekly one of the reasons he took on the role was to learn how to produce and handle a big budget movie production.

“I thought if I was going to direct a movie like [BATMAN V. SUPERMAN], which I would like to do at some point, I need to have something of a refresher course of how these movies are done."

Rumors have been circling online for several months claiming Warner Bros. is planning to development a solo BATMAN movie (also rumored to be called THE BATMAN). This rumor also states that the studio wants Affleck to star and direct, as well as bring back BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE writer Chris Terrio to write the solo BATMAN movie for Affleck.

With San Diego Comic-Con 2015 right around the corner perhaps the announcement of a solo BATMAN movie is one of the big surprises Warner Bros. will reveal during their Hall H presentation.
