TRANSFORMERS 4 Set Explosions in Detroit and Is That the Star Saber?

Transformers 4 has begun filming in Detroit near Grand Circus Park and director Michael Bay filmed a scene with what he does best at... explosions. But that was not the most important thing seen at the Detroit location.

Actor Mark Wahlberg was seen on set wearing a giant alien sword on his back. After some quick research, it appears that this sword could be the Star Saber. There are several different stories involving the Star Saber, in Transformers universe continuity, with the most recent coming directly from the current Transformers Prime animated series. Created by Solus Prime, the Star Saber has the ability to destroy both stars and planets.
