Not many details are known about the next Captain America movie, outside of its large, ensemble cast. And as production ramps up, in multiple cities, more clues will be revealed with leaked set and location photos by fans watching from a distance (cough... we'll be there trying to get sweet set photos too... cough). One piece of information has become more clear.
Wednesday night on local television news, WKYC reporter Jennifer Lindgren broke a scoop that Cap's Cleveland shoot is standing in for another city. That city is none other than the nation's capital, Washington D.C. In other words, Captain America: The Winter Soldier's story will see a lot of time in D.C. because of this new info and the fact the movie is also moving to D.C. to shoot scenes this summer too.
Since it's known that Cap's next big screen adventure will have a government city setting, it also makes sense why Marvel is saying the film is a "political thriller" than an action/adventure movie. Plus, don't forget that Captain America will be working closely with the government agency S.H.I.E.L.D., including its director Nick Fury, top agent Black Widow and new additions Agent 13 and the winged Falcon.
Who Cap will be fighting in D.C. seems to obviously be the man named in the title of the movie, the Winter Soldier. This is also Cap's previously assumed deceased friend, Bucky Barnes, from the first movie Captain America: The First Avenger. What is still unknown is if another villain is behind the scenes pulling the strings.
